  A. New Evidence
3. Again – The Visor

3.3 Indications for a changed Visor Position prior to the official “Finding”

The first publicly available video footage from the 02.10.94 shows nothing of the starboard side of the bow including the bulbous bow and the forepeak deck – the area where the visor at that time might have been. Only the videos produced on 09./10.10.94 showed also these areas – but then the visor could have been removed already.

The detailed analysis of the video tape showing the visor on the sea bottom after it had been “officially” found on 18.10.94 reveals damage clearly indicating that the visor had already been lifted and/or pulled whilst in upside-down condition as explained by the photos and comments on the following pages.

The first photo on the following page was taken in mid January 1995 from the visor bottom at Hangö and the following images were made from the video made by the ROV from the visor after it  had been “found” on 18.10.94 but before any “official” lifting attempts had been made.

The arrows indicate damage to the aft part of the visor bottom obviously caused by wires during the attempt(s) to lift and/or pull the visor.
